"One World, One People" Bahá'u'lláh |
"Ancient Ties"
Where there are Wolves, you will always find Ravens. They have a close symbionic and somewhat mystical relationship, and it has been that way for thousands of years. Ravens will lead wolves to prey, so they can take a portion of the left-overs, they play games of tail chasing with each other, and develop individual friendships. It is a complex and beautiful example of the natural balance of nature.
"The Sacredness of Tears"
'There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of Power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief, and unspeakable love.' Rumi
I call this series "Bark Inspirations" because that's what they are. I took photographs of bark on diverse trees and then played with the color on my laptop. From there I used them as inspirations for semi-abstracts and used opaque and transparent acrylics, molding paste, gels, pieces of bark, stones, little jewels, and all kinds of things for texture on them. So much fun.
